Special Educational Needs

Bamford Primary School is a mainstream school committed to providing a fully inclusive experience for all children regardless of individual needs and in an environment which values and celebrates diversity.

In order to achieve this, the school has a designated Special Education Needs Co-ordinator (SENCO), Mrs Gemmell.

Mrs Gemmell is supported in this role by the teachers and other staff.

Mrs Gemmell is a fully qualified SENCO and she is charged with ensuring that the school's SEN provision works effectively to ensure that all our pupils, regardless of educational need, are able to enjoy learning and be successful in their learning goals.

The teachers are responsible for ensuring that the needs of each child are met fully.  They work in close partnership with our team of skilled Teaching Assistants, pupils and parents / carers to ensure that all children can succeed.

The Headteacher is held accountable for SEND Provision and reports to the Governing Body regarding the progress of all children in school, including our children with special educational needs.
