Welcome (to the Federation)
The Peak Federation is two individual schools, Bamford Primary School and Grindleford Primary School, who have joined together to form one federation family. Our aim is to be the schools of choice for our local communities, where we foster a nurturing, inclusive learning environment for all. We believe all pupils can thrive academically, emotionally and socially, becoming confident, responsible and lifelong learners.
Headteacher’s Introduction
Welcome to our federation of two small schools set within the stunning Peak District National Park. Each school is proudly individual, with its own identity and ethos—one rooted in being a safe place to grow, the other inspiring children to engage, explore, excel. Together, they form a strong and supportive partnership, where collaboration enhances opportunity while preserving what makes each school unique. Across both settings, our size enables us to know every child well and to create inclusive communities where all children truly belong, take part, and thrive.
As a federation, we share high ambition for every pupil. Although we are small, our aspirations are anything but. We are committed to high-quality teaching, rich experiences, and strong outcomes for every child. We nurture curiosity, encourage exploration of our unique environment, and inspire pupils to develop resilience, independence, and a lifelong love of learning. Through shared expertise and joint working, we ensure that every child is both supported and challenged to achieve their very best.
Our shared citizenship values—courtesy, resilience, determination, respect, kindness, and teamwork—are at the heart of daily life across both schools. These values shape strong relationships across our federation and underpin a culture of care, ambition, and mutual respect. Together, we have built a community where children are supported to be their very best—confident, compassionate individuals ready to embrace the opportunities ahead.
